Nonna Maria Caravello — at the pasta board

Since 2011

She brought a rolling pin and a suitcase of seeds

Nonna Maria Caravello left Cefalù in 1968 with her husband's fishing papers and a wooden board wrapped in a tablecloth. Fifty years later her grandson runs the pass, and that same board still sits under the flour.

What she found here was not so different from what she left: cold water, patient people, and a town that knows the price of a good day at sea.
